#267 closed defect (worksforme)

Print preview doesn't work and then causes the graph to be very broken (Windows 7)

Reported by: Rob Dalgliesh Owned by:
Priority: major Milestone: SasView 3.1.0
Component: SasView Keywords:
Cc: Work Package: SasView Bug Fixing

Description

Selecting print preview from a graph gives a blank page.

Then selecting close leaves the graph completely broken (very large line size, some scaling issue with Wx?) often followed by a hard crash of SasView?.

Note that this was Windows 7 64bit

Tested on MacOS 10.9 and it works there.

Just tested on my office W7 64-bit (32-bit SasView?) and it works fine.

There is a slight pause where you only see a blank page for a few seconds before the graph appears, but plotted fine and was able to close the window and continue in SasView?.

Can you try clicking "Close" before the graph appears?

From Rob Dalgliesh:

This is a good one….
It works once I do a compatibility check.
i.e. get windows to think that it’s a winxp application….

It might be that your machine has been clever and remember that an exe named sasview.exe should be run like this.

AJJ: Do we need to instruct Win 7/8 users to do this?

No. Close button doesn't become active in time.

Have just had a colleague install SasView? 3.0.0 for the first ever time on their W7 64-bit machine. Print preview works fine.

Also had Richard check operation on his office machine. Also fine.

Bottom line: No one else can reproduce Rob's observation at present.
