use same markup language for trac and github

Switching conventions between braces and back ticks for code in trac vs. github is tedious. Similarly for external links, super/subscripts, etc.

Can we use the same markup language for tickets in Trac and PRs in github?

Latex or asciimath would be nice as well, but it doesn't seem to be supported.
