Code Camp IX Planning

Dates

The ninth SasView Code Camp will be held in Grenoble, France starting March 25th 2019.

Travel and Accommodation

Hotel Suggestion

There are several possibilities. I did not contact yet any hotel for a group reservation, so the prices given are only indicative.

Guesthouse in campus: Probably not an option. They will open it only if more than 15 rooms are occupied. And the canteen will not be open for dinner!

Marie Curie residence: Cheapest (41.50 euro/night, breakfast included) and nearest option. But no bar or comfortable meeting place at night. Link: https://www.sejours-affaires.com/residence-hoteliere-aparthotel-grenoble-7.html

Le Grand-Hotel: Very centric (close to place Grenette) and seems to be one of the nicest hotels in town. 120 euro/night. Link: http://www.grand-hotel-grenoble.fr/

The next three hotels are situated in the same area, close to the World Trade Center, behind the train station and therefore quite close to the Marie Curie residence and not far from the campus.

Hipark Adagio: 75 euro/night. Studios and apartments only, I think. There is a meeting room and gym, but I think that there is no bar. Link: https://wwwbeta.adagio-city.com/fr/hotel-B2R8-hipark-by-adagio-grenoble/index.shtml?utm_source=google%20Maps&utm_medium=seo%20maps&utm_campaign=seo%20maps

Europole: 100 euro/night. Link:https://www.hoteleuropole.com/

Novotel: 100 euro/night. Link:https://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-1624-novotel-grenoble-centre/index.shtml

And also not far from the train station, but on the other side: Ibis Styles Gare: 90 euro/night. Link:https://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-7953-ibis-styles-grenoble-centre-gare/index.shtml

A few other options recommended by the ILL at our last user meeting can be found here: http://www.neutrons4europe.com/index.php?langue=en&onglet=5&acces=&idUser=&emailUser=&messageConfirmation=

Meals

Lunch

Lunches from Monday to Friday will be taken on the onsite canteen. As both the ILL and the ESRF will be shut down during the code camp period, the canteen will not be open for dinner and on the weekend.

Dinner

If we want to eat together in town in the evenings then many places will need a booking for the number we have. Suggestions will be added here in due time.
